From Craig McDermott's Mom, Yvonne: Craig (Hobbitt) just finished a week long training program with the ROTC and got home late when he had a message on the phone to give Lt Colonel Wallace a call. He then had to Fax some paper work to him and wait for the orders to go to Washington DC on the 29th of June, but because things took so long and because of the Holiday coming up the paper work didn't get done in time so we we're scheduled for this past Friday July 8th. They flew us out on July the 7th and put us up in a Holiday Inn for the night and the ceremony was the next morning at Fort McPherson, in Atlanta, Georgia @ 9:00 am. What a great Ceremony it was. There were three recipients that received it Craig being one of them... Only 8 have received the award up to the 8th. What a great Honor to have Lt General James Helmly pin this award on Craig. "Combat Action Badge"
We we're told that he was one of the first out of only 500 to receive this award and that they said that they wished that they would have put numbers on the back.....
But it is a great honor to be selected for this....
